Winter hiking allows you to experience the Pinzgau Valley at its most beautiful. The region around our Pension Heilbad Burgwies is a true winter wonderland. Hiking here is one of the most impressive activities you can undertake as a guest of our hotel.

Hiking trails

We have put together a selection of hikes for you. The starting point for all of the routes listed is our Pension Heilbad Burgwies guesthouse. We will be happy to provide you with tips for further excursions in the snow.

Burgwies Path

Ca. 45 Min. – easy hike without inclines:

Heilbad Burgwies - Huber car repair shop - Stuhlfelden - Butcher's shop, cross the road to Wilhelmsdorfer Bridge, walk along the Salzach dam to Dankel, cross the road at Schweizerhaus, and you will arrive back at Pension Heilbad Burgwies.

Ca. 2 Std. – Leisurely walk without any inclines:

Pension Heilbad Burgwies – Stuhlfelden Schloss Lichtenau – Wilhelmsdorf – turn right before Wilhelmsdorf – follow the cycle path to Felben (local history museum) – through Mittersill – to Burk – Burkerweg – Burgwiesweg – Pension Heilbad Burgwies

Dürnberg Trail

ca 2 Std. – easy hike with inclines

Pension Heilbad Burgwies – Stuhlfelden Schloss Lichtenau – Innerdorf – Ortsende – Dürnberg Güterweg – to the Aigen snack bar or on to the Sticklhof snack bar and back again.

Hiking trail via the Bamerhof snack bar

Leisurely hike with a slight incline.

Pension Heilbad Burgwies – Stuhlfelden Schloss Lichtenau – Innerdorf to the smithy – right over the bridge – Bamerhof – Pirtendorf.

a) Turn right at Gasthof Oberzehentner and walk through the settlement to Stuhlfelden – Pension Heilbad Burgwies – 55 minutes.

b) Pension Heilbad Burgwies – Stuhlfelden – through Pirtendorf – underpass on the main road – straight across the railway tracks – over the Salzach bridge – along the Salzach dam to the Wilhelmsdorfer bridge – Stuhlfelden-Pension Heilbad Burgwies – approx. 1 hour 15 min.

c) Pension Heilbad Burgwies – Stuhlfelden through Pirtendorf – underpass on the main road – straight across the railway tracks – before the Salzach bridge, turn right up the Salzach dam – across the Pirtendorf valley floor to Hörfarter – then through the settlement to Stuhlfelden and back to Pension Heilbad Burgwies – approx. 1 hour 30 min.

Waldkapellen Trail

Pension Heilbad Burgwies – Dechandkegel – Waldkapelle – towards the farm – Stuhlfelden municipality – Huber car repair shop – Pension Heilbad Burgwies – approx. 1 hour 55 min.
